Step into the magical world of bees during this family-friendly beekeeping experience at the farm! Perfect for parents, caregivers, and curious little learners, this hands-on session introduces participants of all ages to the incredible life of honeybees.
Together we will gently explore a real working hive, learn how beekeepers care for bees, and discover why pollinators are so important for our food and environment. Brave participants will even have the opportunity to safely hold a frame of bees for a memorable photo!
During the session we will also:
Learn how beekeepers use a smoker and protective bee suits
Practice safe and calm behavior around bees
Explore the roles of worker bees, queens, and drones
Taste delicious local honey, including honey from our own farm and other nearby beekeepers
This experience is designed to be fun, educational, and gentle for young participants, while still exciting for older kids and adults.
